2018 AMP Alabama Communications Contest Winners


Our annual communications contest is a great opportunity to be acknowledged for good work and to get feedback on how to improve. And the 2018 results show the continued benefits and popularity of this annual contest. We had entries in 29 categories.

We need to give a thanks to the 16 judges and our contest director, Meredith Cummings, who volunteered their time for this important AMP benefit.

Donna Francavilla (pictured) was our sweepstakes winner, meaning she had the highest score resulting from the number and placement levels of her awards. The judge said of one of her entries: "Donna knows the subject matter she is covering well. It is clear she has knowledge of the candidates and the circumstances around the election. When all of the pieces are together, it makes for a good story."

This year we had 21 entries placing first, which means they are eligible to compete on a national level in the National Federation of Press Women's 2018 Communications Contest. In total, we had 10 winners:
